VolkerWessels subsidiary Visser & Smit Marine Contracting (VSMC) recently signed four contracts with a combined value of over € 150 million for the installation of cables for wind farms.

The contracts cover the following
VSMC has recently signed a contract with NKT Cables
GmbH to install 60 km
export cable from Baltic 2 Offshore wind farm to the Baltic 1 Offshore wind
West of Duddon Sands
Offshore Wind Farm
Dong Energy and Scottish Power are
VSMC's joint clients for the West of
Duddon Sands Offshore
Windfarm. This project
comprises the construction of two
export cables in the Irish Sea,
near the successfully completed projects Walney 1 & 2.
- Thornton Bank Phase 2
Commissioned by Deme Offshore Services, VSMC signed a contract to
install 36 km export cable
near Zeebrugge in Belgium.
Work will start in March 2012.
The Offshore wind farm Bürger-Butendiek is
currently being built in the south eastern part of the North
Sea. VSMC signed a contract with WPD to supply, construct and install
the Infield cables.
Continuity The projects will be executed from March
2012 until the end of 2013
and provide a solid continuity in the order book of VSMC. Talks have already
commenced for new projects in 2014 and beyond.
