The Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management ('Rijkswaterstaat') intends to award the first DBFM contract within the programme Schiphol-Amsterdam-Almere (SAA), that is the project A1/A6, to the SAAone consortium. SAAone is a consortium consisting of VolkerWessels, Boskalis, HOCHTIEF, and DIF.
The project encompasses the design, realisation, management, maintenance and financing of existing and new infrastructure between the road junction Diemen (A1) and Almere Havendreef (A6). The contract has a duration of 30 years and involves an amount in excess of EUR 1 billion.
After the expiry of the Alcatel Period on 28 November, Rijkswaterstaat is expected to award the execution of this contract definitively. The consortium anticipates it will be possible to conclude the financing by the beginning of 2013. VolkerWessels, Boskalis, HOCHTIEF and DIF will all participate in SAAone.
On the instruction of SAAone, the construction work will be carried out by a construction consortium consisting of HOCHTIEF, VolkerWessels and Boskalis, in the ratio 35%/35%/30%.
HOCHTIEF is one of the seven largest construction service providers in the world and is the market leader in Germany. DIF is a leading investor in infrastructure projects.
